Description:

Expedia Group is seeking an experienced Backend Software Engineer III to join its Air Supply Organization in Gurgaon. This high-scale platform team serves as the foundational backbone connecting Expedia's marketplace with global airlines via New Distribution Capability (NDC) and GDS integrations, processing over 8TB of telemetry data monthly. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end design and implementation of highly scalable, low-latency API layers. You will collaborate closely with product management and principal architects to resolve complex distributed systems issues, champion high-quality code reviews, and help maintain high operational availability across Expedia's multi-tenant production applications.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 4+ years of professional software development experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Deep, proven proficiency in building highly scalable, backend systems using Java or Kotlin.
• Substantial experience designing, building, and maintaining robust, complex RESTful web services and transactional APIs.
• Practical structural familiarity handling both relational engines (e.g., MSSQL) and non-relational distributed datastores (e.g., DynamoDB, Redis).
• Solid conceptual command of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), SOLID architectural design principles, or Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Experience working within an agile engineering environment, creating technical documentation, tracking metrics, and conducting deep architectural reviews.
• Hands-on infrastructure experience with cloud computing platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS), alongside continuous delivery pipelines (CI/CD) and monitoring ecosystems (e.g., Splunk, Datadog).
